April Newsletter
Helloooo Quilters!
March is marching behind us. Mom, Tamyia and I so very happy to see March marching out of our lives. It's been a rough March.
Spring is in the air! Uncle Scott's Daffodils and Tulips are coming up to get ready and greet our customers in a few weeks. The Crocus by the mailbox are up, greeting us when we go to the mailbox.
Tamiya is happy because there are more days when Mom doesn't put a sweatshirt on than days when she makes her wear a sweatshirt. She's looking forward to warm sunny days to lay in the sun and soak up the warm rays of sunshine. I am too.
Enough about us fur greeters, onto the happenings around the Shop.
We have new fabrics coming in. Grandma bought a lot of new fabric yesterday that will be coming in late Summer and Fall,
We have received more Kaffe Fasset fabrics, including a couple of his widebacks, lush velet from Riley Blake (it's low pile double sided minky), and some other widebacks.
Me modeling the new fabrics. Aren't I handsome? Reminder photo of the other Kaffe Fasset fabrics we have
April's Free Pattern & Demo Day will be on the SECOND SATURDAY (4/12/25).
Instead of the usually 1st Saturday.
We have a fabulous panel, coordinating fabrics & pattern that will be ready to put on the shelves as soon as Grandma gets the sample done. This should be a huge hit, it really fits into our community.
We have more fabric to show you on today's Facebook Live Fabric Reveal Party at 1:15.
Our Facebook Page is listed under Friendship Star Quilt Shop. Check it out, it's full of funny content, helpful information and tips.
Next week, Regular Easter Fabrics are 20% Off. A minimum of 1 yard cut. 3/31/25-4/5/25
Easter is coming up fast. An Easter table runner would be a great gift if your invading....I mean... going to a relative or friend's home for Easter dinner. Kids & grandkids would love an Easter themed pillowcase for their bed. Maybe the Easter bunny will leave them something in thier pillowcase.
Sorry, Mom said that's the tooth fairy not the Easter bunny. What do I know, I'm a dog & neutered. I don't have any puppies.
The Winners of the Project/Fabric Challenge are:
1st: Tina Robinson
2nd: Kelly Pakes & Anna Marie Cole (tie)
3rd: Charlene Dauberman & Margaret Zimmer (tie)
Mom forgot to take photos of the winning projects. Like I said earlier, it's been a rough month.
Congratulations to all the winners.
They were all beautiful!
We would like to remind our customers, if there was something you used to buy at Joann's. Please check with us.
We maybe able to order it in or have it in stock.
We now have quilting bias tape in stock and Retro Wash. Retro Wash is a laundry detergent for quilts and other delicates. I'm told a little goes a long way.
We have found a different brand of machine quilting gloves. We have them in large and medium.
These cut, cheerful pin cushions are new in the Shop.
The Corning Quilters Guild having a quilters & crafters Rummage Sale
Last but not least. Join us at the Arnot Mall for Piecemakers of Elmira's Quilts in Bloom quilt show.
The outside doors and mall entrance of the old Hess'/Macy's store will be open for entry.
I think I've covered everything for April. Gosh, there sure was a lot to tell y'all. Especially, since it's hard for my to hunt and peck out the newsletter. Posable fingers and thumbs would make it go a lot faster.
I think it's nap time.
Have a wonderful Easter and we hope to see you soon.
Keeping You in Stitches,
Obi the Wonder Dog
