HAPPY NEW YEAR, QUILTERS!

We're back in the Shop and boy am I ready to go.

I missed seeing everyone and going to the Shop everyday.  I had to spend almost all my time around the puppies.

I'm getting too hold to put up with puppies.  I'm pretty sure they were getting on Mom's nerves as well. She spent a lot of time telling them to be quiet. They tend to get pretty rambuctious and loud.

I got some nice dog toys and chew bones from Santa. I hope he brought you some great gifts, too.

My tail is wagging, waiting to greet my first customer of the New Year.

I sure hope 2025 is better than 2024.

Enough about my Christmas and time off.  It's time to update you on what's happening in the Shop.

First, I want to tell you about the first 2 classes being offered this year.  Registration is required for all classes.

Saturday, January 11th:  Sashiko Is Easy.  Includes pattern, needles & thread.  All you need is scissors.

10:30-12:30               You will learn how easy it is to do this relaxing Japanese embroidery. Grandma took a

$40.00                class from a 2nd Generation Japanese instructor who learned it from her Grandfather.

Here's what you will be making on January 11th

Saturday, January 18: Sewing Machine Maintenance

10:30-12                    Learn what you can do to keep your sewing machine running well in between professional

$25.00                        services.  Learn what not to do when cleaning out your sewing machine.

We cover both modern and vintage sewing machines.

Students are encourage to bring in one of their sewing machines to practice on.

There will NOT be a Demo Day on Saturday.

To get everyone's creative juices flowing after the Holidays.

We are going to have a little competition. This will be a great way to make a project outside your comfort zone.

Starting January 3rd- January 8th, we will hand out 2 small pieces of fabric of our choice.

You will can add up to 4 fabrics to make a small wall hanging or table runner.

You will have until February 21st to make your little project.

We will hang your project and the public will vote for their favorite project.

They will be hung up from February 22-March 8th.

Winners will receive a  $25, $15 or $10 gift certificate.

We hope you will join our little competition and have some fun playing with fabrics you would not necessarily pick out for yourself. This is a great way to relax, get creative, think outside your box and have some fun with fabric.

Not everyone will get the same 2 fabrics.

I also want to remind everyone that Mom is now sharpening scissors.

She's always trying to find services that our community needs. So many of them have fallen on the wayside and Mom is trying to bring some of these services back into the community.

I think I've covered everything for now.

I will post the other 2 classes soon.

Be sure to check the last email from December to see the entire class list.

Keeping You In Stitches,
