Forwarding Tricia Place's email
Hello everyone!
I'm forwarding Tricia Place's email.
If the document link doesn't come through, please let me know and I will send out another email with the pattern.
First, a big thank you to everyone who has participated in making masks for our healthcare workers. I hope the time does not come that we need these masks, but we'd rather be prepared than sorry. We have some people who are done and ready for more material! No pressure - every mask counts.
Second, I made some changes to the pattern after receiving some suggestions from thoughtful individuals (I'm no pattern writer!). The original block size is changing slightly, the strips are changing, and please don't put pins in the middle of the mask. Wonder Clips work great if you have them. If you don't you can purchase them at Friendship Star (support local - they're online during this pandemic) or the bigger online if you have to. If you have to pin, stick to the very edges of the mask. If you've already made a bunch of masks using my original pattern, that's great and believe me, we'll take them! But going forward, please use the new pattern that I am attaching.
Third, I'm coordinating a mask drop off and fabric pick up on Monday, March 30 from 2-3:30 pm at 356 Loder Street, Sayre PA 18840. This went so smoothly and I really appreciate that. You do not even need to get out of your vehicles! 😉 If you are dropping off masks, please put your name, home address, and how many masks you made on a piece of paper in your bag. You can send this to your friends, but I do like to have an idea of how many to expect, so send me an email if you're picking up fabric so I have a rough approximation of how many bags I need. I will, of course, need to coordinate another drop off in the near future.
A BIG thank you to Friendship Star for helping to reach even more sewists. Another share would be greatly appreciated.
Cathie Wiigs - If you would share with Piecemakers, I would appreciate it.
Guild members - Please make sure Joann Gillott, Louise Schelter and Elaine Lasater get this. Their emails keep getting kicked back to me.
Because I got a lot of these questions - Guthrie is NOT accepting cotton fabric masks at this time. You must use the fabric I'm providing to you.
Thank you everyone for your support!
